More about this game

In What's a Stick?, you guide a singer retelling a childhood memory across five distinct chapters. The core loop involves reading the current dialogue, reviewing the contextual stage note, and selecting one of three responses to shape the narrative. Each choice secretly adds points to one of five traits: curiosity, listening, warmth, humor, or empathy. The story concludes after the fifth chapter, where the game calculates your highest trait and provides a unique final reflection on how you handled Jack's story.

Tips
  • Read the stage note that appears on the right side of the screen; it provides crucial context about independence before you make your choice.
  • Notice how the memory shifts after your selection; the game pauses for at least 1450 milliseconds to let you read the immediate reply.
  • Replay the five chapters to unlock all five endings by focusing your choices entirely on a single trait like humor, warmth, or curiosity.
Questions

How many chapters are in the story?

The game features exactly five memories to progress through. You start with Aunt May's photograph and end with your inner voice during the final refrain on stage.

Can I fail or make a wrong choice?

No, there are no wrong choices. Your selections simply add points to five hidden traits—empathy, listening, curiosity, humor, and warmth—which determine your final reflection.

How do I mute the background music?

You can toggle the music at any time by tapping the circular sound icon located in the top right corner of the screen next to the title.
