More about this game
The Legacy: The past returns is an interactive story where you guide a family through a difficult confrontation at 9:17 PM. Lillian arrives at Brendan's door in the rain with three-year-old Maisie. You must choose the emotional tone of Brendan and Cody's responses. Your choices directly impact two meters starting at 32 for Boundary clarity and 28 for Child safety. The goal is to reach the end of the eight-scene episode while keeping both meters above 72, leading to one of three different endings based on your final scores.
Tips
- Firm choices generally increase your Boundary score by up to 15 points, but they may not help the Child safety meter.
- Angry responses often cost you 12 Child safety points, so use them carefully when Maisie is present in the scene.
- Compassionate choices can boost Child safety by up to 17 points, but they might lower your Boundary clarity if Lillian misinterprets them.
Questions
How do I get the best ending in the game?
To reach the strong ending, "A Door, Not a Weapon", you need a Boundary clarity score of 72 or higher, a Child safety score of 72 or higher, and a bond score of at least 2.
What happens if my scores are too low at the end?
If your Boundary score is below 60 or your Child safety score is below 52, you will receive the "An Unsteady Threshold" ending where the children carry too much of the night.
Who are the characters speaking during the rainy confrontation?
You play as Brendan and his son Cody. You are speaking to Lillian, who has arrived uninvited, and trying to protect three-year-old Maisie from the fallout of the argument.
